On to the atmospheric and often overlooked city of Lucknow the state capital, once the most lavish city in the land. You will end your stay in Varanasi, the city of life and death that sits on the edge of the holy river Ganges. Witness the world wake, with a dawn boat ride, before exploring this magical and mythical labyrinthine city of old.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: DEPART LONDON
On arrival transfer to The Claridges Hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of New Delhi.
Day 2: DELHI
Morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi including a brief cycle rickshaw ride through narrow lanes and Bazaars of Old Delhi Afternoon visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib where you can volunteer in one of the biggest kitchens in the city, which serves more than 10,000 meals, everyday.
Day 3: DELHI – AGRA
Morning transfer by road to the ITC Mughal Hotel, Agra. Afternoon visit to the mighty Agra Fort and sunset visit of the Taj Mahal.
Day 4: AGRA – CHAMBAL
Late morning transfer by road to Chambal Safari Lodge to stay two nights in the wonderful rural setting. Afternoon visit the plentiful, ancient Bateshwar Temples on the bank of the river Yamuna.
Day 5: CHAMBAL
Morning river safari to Chambal River to discover the local wildlife, including gharial crocodiles and Gangetic river dolphins. Afternoon village walk to explore local life.
Day 6: CHAMBAL – DUDHWA
Morning transfer by road to Dudhwa, approximately 05 hour drive. On arrival, check-in at TUTC Jaagir Lodge.
Day 7: DUDHWA
Early morning and afternoon game viewings in Dudhwa National Park either by an exclusive jeep or by Elephant. The relatively unknown Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is a protected area in Uttar Pradesh covering over 1230 sq kms.
Day 8: DUDHWA – LUCKNOW
Early morning game viewing in Dudhwa National Park either by an exclusive jeep or an Elephant. Late morning transfer by road to Lucknow, (approximately 5 hour drive). On arrival, check-in at Vivanta by Taj Gomti Nagar.
Day 9: LUCKNOW
Morning heritage walking tour of Lucknow followed by sightseeing tour of Lucknow. Afternoon visit to a local textile market and to see how the famous chikan embroidery is done, at the Self Employed Women’s Association “SEWA”.
Day 10: LUCKNOW – VARANASI
Morning transfer by road to Varanasi (approximately 06 hours drive) and check-in at Brijrama Palace Hotel. Evening walk of the ghats through the narrow lanes of the city, as dusk descends for the evening Aarti ceremony at the side of the holy Ganges River.
Day 11: VARANASI
Early morning boat ride on River Ganges, to watch the holy pilgrimage. Morning sightseeing tour of Varanasi followed by a visit to Sarnath, where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dhamma.
Day 12: VARANASI – DELHI - LONDON
Morning transfer to Paro Airport to board a Druk Air flight to Delhi. On arrival transfer and check into JW Marriott Hotel.
Day 13: Depart Delhi
Early morning transfer for onward destination.
